Alter Ego Blues Band (NSW)

The Alter Ego Blues Band is an exciting new blues band that incorporates aspects of authentic Chicago style blues with influences from modern rock and jazz. Rather than the usual guitar dominated blues band, Alter Ego Blues Band has at least four soloists including blues harp, keyboards, saxophone and guitar. The repertoire includes classic blues tracks that most blues fan will know, performed in a fresh and original format.

The band comprises the distinctive 'blues attitude' vocals of Andy 'Howlin' Welsh who doubles on harp, Neil Rawle on piano and Hammond organ, Glenn Leembruggen on tenor, alto and soprano sax, Ken Scannell on guitar and slide guitar, Robert Budniak on bass guitar and double bass and the wonderful Brian 'Mitch Moonbaker' Trevarton on drums.

After playing their first concert, at the Cancer Council Relay for Life November 2005 at Rooty Hill, they recorded their first 'live in the studio' CD in December 2005 and second CD 'Superlicious Blues' in early 2009. Over the last few years they have played regularly in Sydney at hotels and festivals.
