Jonno & the Zilberfish (ACT)Jonno & the Zilberfish are an emerging youth talent from Canberra. Jonno Zilber performed at the launch of the 2006 Festival with Ambassador Lloyd Spiegel to great acclaim. Jonno and the Zilberfish is a 3 piece electric blues band. With over 31 years of musical experience between them, the members (from left to right in the photo) are James "Jimbo" Combridge, Jonno Zilber and "Matty-G" Gallagher. Jonno Zilber (guitar and vocals) Jonno Zilber is a 16 year old blues singer/guitarist from Canberra. He is the youth officer of the Canberra Blues Society and the winner of the Canberra Roots Music Young Performer award. Jonnos playing style is heavily influenced by Dutch Tilders, Lloyd Spiegel and Geoff Achison. Jonno's solo album is now available. Matty G (bass guitar) Matthew Gallagher first learnt the piano from the age of 5. He got an electric bass for his 13th birthday and starting playing around with it, then after forming a band with school-mates Jonno Zilber and James Combridge in year 7, he was well on his way to producing the driving bass sound for what is now known as Jonno and the Zilberfish. Jimbo (drums) Jimbo has been drumming since the age of 7. Although he never had formal lessons, he has managed to develop his skills by watching and listening to other drummers, which has given him the versatility that many highly trained drummers could only dream of having. He has been performing with many groups, for many occasions in and around Canberra for the last few years.
