Doggn It (NSW)
"Doggn It" are a Traditional Blues Duo with captivating songs about our rivers, and remote towns, whaling, logging, and unrequited love of course! -
Two song writers who burst onto the Sydney Blues scene in 2012 after winning the Sydney Blues competition
Graeme Druce on Guitar and John Cupit Blues harp
They are an Australian team, playing Blues together since 1985.
Graeme plays a style of Blues guitar which seems to blend the great past masters of Piedmont blues like John Cephus, with contemporary masters of Blues guitar Eric Bibb, and Keb Mo and his own home spun Australian sound. Whether playing his resonator, or his Taylor guitar, you will be captivated by the rich tone and the complexity of his sound.
John plays a deep hollow sounding blues, which will move you with its rich tone, and sustained bends and vibrato. Influenced by Jim Conway his mentor, John compliments Graeme's unique sound with an equally unique tonal quality.
Together Doggn it sing and play their way through a range of original material, which provides a commentary on Australian issues ranging from what it feels like to wake up in the Australian bush in Life you choose, Logging timber by hand at the turn of the century in Shiftn logs, to living through the depression on the Hungry Mile, contemporary difficulties we face in daily life in songs like Devil at your door, Global issues in songs like CEO blues, and places and people only Australians will know, through to Blues standards like Trouble in mind and Pallette on your floor.
