Matt Taylor (WA)
An Australian blues legend, Matt Taylor has been playing his brand of Australian-tinged blues music since the mid-60s. His first band, the Bay City Union, was formed in March 1966 and was one of Australia's first traditional Chicago blues bands.
Before going solo, Matt used to do guest spots with Chain, Australia's most well known unique blues/roots act. They are the only Australian blues act to have a number one hit in Australia. Matt is famous for his on-stage chemistry and creating a true Australian form of blues music.
Over the past three decades Matt Taylor has been continuing his solo career with different versions of Chain and Perth band, Western Flyer. In 1995, he toured Germany and England as well as classic blues terrain in the southern states of the US. Matt Taylor still plays nationally solo and with Chain. To many he's Australia's finest harmonic player and a songwriter with a great history of story-telling.
