Steve Shackel (NSW)
Steve Shackel, born in London, travelled the world then immigrated to Australia and finally settled in Goulburn nearly 30 years ago.
He briefly played in several bands and duets but decided that solo,
acoustic playing suited his wide ranging musical tastes and playing styles.
Originally influenced by the fingerstyle techniques of Leo Kottke, Ry
Cooder, Rory Gallagher and also old and contemporary solo blues/roots
performers, he combines slide and fingerstyle playing on his resaphonic,
six and twelve string guitars. Steve is laid back onstage but passionate
about blues and roots music so expect everything from thumping
urban blues to high speed instrumentals
and quirky folk/blues ballads.
His ambition is to live forever, making music - so far so good.
